    Lack of self-confidence is not a personal character trait.  It is a habit we learn as a result of life our experiences.  It can be “unlearned” and replaced with self-confident living, very successfully.  We help people to build the inner confidence they want using the following simple three step formula:
    Step One:  To build the sustainable self-confidence you want, it helps to understand why you lack confidence in particular “trigger” situations.   We will help you uncover habits you are not aware of, which occur in such “trigger” situations, and how these hold you back from achieving what you want.  These are often thinking patterns or behaviours that have become so automatic you no longer notice when or why they occur.  When you understand this, you will see how old habits are running your life and this is why you don’t feel in control.  The next step is to understand why you’ve developed these habits so you can clear them out of the way and become your confident self.  Step two will help you achieve this.
     
    Step two:  It is common that many people don’t understand the roots of the behaviours they use to manage anxiety provoking situations, so they keep using the same strategy and end up feeling stuck.  We will help you recognise why you use certain tactics to manage particular situations and why they don’t work for the life you want now.  You will discover how these habits had a helpful function when you had to deal with certain past situations - this is why you keep using them, they used to work!  When you fully understand the habits you have developed which were useful for past situations, this opens the door for you to feel confident to adopt a better approach which is more suited to what you currently want in your life.  Step three will help you achieve this.
     
    Step three:  Now you are aware of the triggers that undermine your confidence and the old habits that aren’t so effective in your current life, you will start to feel able to try out new, more effective strategies to achieve what you want.  We will help you experiment and embed these effective new strategies, at a pace that feels comfortable for you and steadily increases your confidence when you need it.  The challenge here is that you will feel tempted to use old habits (because they are familiar) and your new strategies will feel a bit strange, simply because you are not used to using them.  We will help you understand why and when this happens, so you will have the confidence to manage any anxiety which naturally arises when making new changes.  You will find your self-confidence growing and you will feel increasingly able to enjoy your life and achieve the results you want.  As the work progresses, you will find you no longer need us because you will have established an inner confidence you know you can rely on, no matter what difficult situations you might face in the future.
