Your Confidentiality
Maintaining your confidentiality is central to our work. This means that, as a rule, we do not discuss the details of your therapy sessions with any other individual, without your permission. As a requirement of good ethical practice, each therapist does discuss clinical work with their clinical supervisor, who also supports the therapist in providing a good quality service. Our clinical supervisors are bound by the same rules of confidentiality and do not have any access to your personal identity information.
Breaking Confidentiality
We would consider breaking confidentiality in the following instances: if we felt you were seriously at risk of harming yourself, another person or if another person is seriously of harm to you or if a child is at risk of being harmed. In such instances we would make every effort to discuss the situation with you first but if that was not possible, we would consider contacting relevant support services e.g. your GP or emergency services, for example, hospital or police.
